Terms of Service
Effective July 9, 2026 · CoinForge Studio is operated by Hratch Simonyan ("we", "us").
1. What CoinForge Studio is
CoinForge Studio is a coin and challenge-coin designer for laser engraving. The software is open source under the MIT License — these Terms don't restrict your rights under that license to the code itself. What these Terms cover is the hosted service: the app at app.coinforgestudio.com, accounts, cloud storage, and paid plans.
2. Your account
- The hosted app requires an account with a verified email (Google sign-in or email/password).
- Give us accurate information and keep your credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account.
- The desktop app and local browser mode need no account and are not subject to the account-related sections of these Terms.
3. Plans, billing & refunds
- Free — the complete designer, unlimited local projects, full-quality export. Free means free: no watermarks, no feature traps.
- Pro — adds cloud project slots that follow your account (10, up from the free plan's 1), plus any additional Pro features as described on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Promotional first-year pricing, when offered, is shown before you pay and renews at the regular price.
- Paid plans are billed annually and renew automatically. Prices are shown before you pay; if a renewal price ever increases, we'll email you before it takes effect.
- Cancel anytime via Manage Billing in the app — you keep your plan's benefits until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds: within 14 days of a charge (first payment or renewal), email us and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. After that, the year is non-refundable, but cancelling stops any future charge.
- Downgrades never destroy your work. If your plan lapses, cloud projects above your new limit become read-only — you can always open, export, or delete them, just not save new ones there.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms.
4. Your content
- Coin designs, images, and projects you create or upload are yours. We claim no ownership and no license beyond what's technically required to store and display them back to you.
- You're responsible for having the rights to any images or marks you use — trademarks, unit insignia, and licensed characters have owners; engraving them for sale can require permission.
- We don't monitor your projects, but if content stored with us is illegal, we may remove it and may be required to report it.
5. Fair use of the service
You agree not to:
- abuse, overload, or attempt to break the service or its security rules;
- use the cloud slots as generic file hosting for non-CoinForge content;
- resell access to the hosted service or share one account across a workshop (the software is open source — run your own copy instead, genuinely, we don't mind);
- use the service for anything illegal.
6. Availability & the indie reality
This is a passion project run by one maker, not a datacenter with an SLA. We aim for the hosted
service to be reliably available, but it's provided "as is" and "as available", without
warranties of any kind. Export your work regularly — the app makes .coin backups
one click away, and the desktop app works offline forever. If we ever discontinue the hosted
service, we'll give at least 90 days' notice and a way to export everything.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost designs you didn't export, or ruined coin blanks (test-engrave on scrap, always). Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for free users is zero.
8. Termination
You can delete your account anytime by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms; if we do and you have paid time remaining without a violation on your side, we'll refund the unused portion.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for paying customers, email you. Continuing to use the hosted service after a change means you accept it.
10. Contact & governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions first, lawyers later: contact@coinforgestudio.com.
